Hoping to get some ideas on how to improve ground clearance on my P1K-5. We went to Ride Royal Blue this past weekend and our stock P1K-5 had issues with rutted trails.

I know a lift would help drastically but I’m concerned with a rough ride. I’m planning on adding some bigger tires which I know will help some. Any suggestions on brand? I’m thinking 28s. I would like to keep from rubbing.

I’ve read about angled a arms but can’t find where anyone did this mod and what happened to ride quality. Does anyone have any experience with this?

All suggestions are greatly appreciate.

Yes. I figured I was going to beat that horse. Later I’m going to post on 2nd battery then start a winch conversation.

Just kidding. Seriously just hoping to see if arched a arms makes the ride stiffer. Wife has a bad back and need to keep ride as good as possible. Read where tires might improve ride but wasn’t sure if that holds true.

Or a witch windshield question lol.
No, your good man.

No, they should not change that. To soften the ride you want to get some socks especially to go along with the arms. Fox qs3’s are my shock of choice. You can pre load them to get hight as well as u can do with other aftermarket shocks.
do u have an LE? If u do, u already have the Fox’s. Any other type has the usless teeth filling loosener stockers lol.

Stay with radial tires they ride alot better than bias ply. I'm running 28 carnivores, I've tried every tire from terrabites to super swampers. carnivores are my favorite so far. 28 is the biggest without rubbing.

On tires and the ride, you may want to bear in mind sidewalls. A heavier sidewall gives better protection from sharp rock slices/punctures but gives a much stiffer ride…

Yes the windshield. Forgot that and the heat shield too!

I‘ve actually learned a lot from all the threads I must admit. I’ve got a deluxe. I was dead set on a LE for a long time. Covid hit and I couldn’t find any LEs plus I wasn’t a fan of the color options. Really liked the grey LE but I’m really happy with ours too. Definitely would like to add the Fox’s. Thanks for the tip.

Perfect, thanks. I did see where 28 was the rubbing limit for stock set up. Wasn’t sure on make but already like the way the carnivores look. Our riding is primarily trails and I figure those will give us the grip if we find a little mud.

Thanks. Haven’t considered the rocks impact on sidewall. Do you know if a thicker sidewall is rougher than a stock ride? Ours is stock right now and the ride is not bad. Even a little rougher is fine just don’t want it to be like a log truck on the trails.

Oh absolutely. There’s some tires out there with sidewalls so stiff you can ride them home flat…

But man what a compromised ride…..😳

Don’t run thin sidewall tires on too low of pressure, you’ll damage them….

There’s just too many opinions on tires here, it’s very subjective. Get you some Tensor Regulators….😂 right @Plumber32

I've flattened tusk trilobites 8ply HD and a super swamper bogger. Which I didn't think it could be done but I did it, ripped sidewalls out of them both. My experience is don't matter what tire it is a sharp rock hit wrong will go through anything.

I have 30" EFX Motovators, Superatv arms front and rear and stage 4 Elkas. The ride is awesome, the ground clearance is good and I really enjoy the machine on rougher trails. It's awesome on fire roads and higher speed stuff too.

I run basically the same set up, different tires and different Stage on the Elka's. I really like the Elka's, but stage 4 is all you need.
