Was thinking of some sort of interior cab light when I ran across this gadget found over at Lowes. It's made by Slyvania (in China of course), has 3 led lights, runs on 3 AAA batteries (supplied) the bar rotates 90 degrees, turns on and off by 2 contact probes sticking out of the bar (just touch it), sticks on with velcro and the best part is it's around 10 bucks. Haven't tried it in the dark yet, but I'm sure it puts out enough light to find the ignition or take care of what ever needs attention. Just thought I'd throw this out here….

Something like this is exactly what i'd use. No need to spend $50 for some UTV specific thing.

I found these flexible LED light strips at Walmart for about $20. They come two in a pack and had a few different ones to choose from. They're waterproof and have 3M tape on the back. I only have one installed in these pics and I think it's going to be good enough but I'll likely go ahead and use them both eventually. I just zip tied it on for now until I get a roof on it. The only drawback I found was the wires were very tiny and it took me forever to get the coating off without breaking the wire. Sorry I didn't get any close-ups.

Im going to use flexible LED strips from Amazon to do this same thing. It runs about $1 a foot on Amazon and can be cut in virtually any length at home. I'm planing on wiring up 3 sections about 1' long; one for each cross bar on my 700-4 roll cage. The light output is incredible, it takes up no space and only requires about 1.5w per foot to power. I plan on using 18 awg SJOOW cord (replacement power tool cord) from a local hardware store to run power to the strips. This is a two conductor cord with a black rubber jacket so it will hold up well and I can zip tie it straight to the bar without worrying if it will ever wear through.

I just ordered the Sylvania swivel DOT-it light. It looks like it should work pretty well. Thanks for the tip! Dale

Spent $10 on 2 of these and a few mins wiring into my dash mounted switches. (Already had the wire run when I made my wiring harness run

They have independent switches on them so I can turn them off if I only need one at a time.
I mounted them to a piece of MDF sealed it with rattlecan bedliner and used double sided automotive trim tape to stick it to the roof(no holes.

I picked up one of these (the utility model). It came with the plastic velcro stuff. I thought I would be able to stick it to the roof and rip it off if I needed a flash light, but when I tried I took the entire strip off the roof. I may have to re-engineer that part, but other wise seems good. It has the big flood light, and the smaller beam on the one end. I have mine mounted with the beam to the rear. My thought was that I could use the flood for a dome light, and the beam to see in the gear bag (that i plan on getting). It also has a big hook and a magnet on the back. Looked like it would be pretty useful when things don't go as planned.

Chops, those lights are available at harbor freight for 2.59. Because there is a magnet on the back you can install a small square of metal with a urethane adhesive most anywhere in cab and have light whenever and where needed.

Dang, wish I would have known that sooner. May have to go get a back up since there is one of those close to me too. I didn't think of putting a small piece of metal on the roof, that may work better than the other stuff.

I ordered this one from Amazon for approx. $12 with free shipping. It called a Rampage and mounts to the roll bar via it's Velcro straps. It's plenty bright and has an on/ off switch on the back side. I ordered another one for the rear seats / cargo area.
