I'll be getting a 700-4 soon, I hope as its been on order since mid March with a ship date of May 1st. I'm buying the Warn VRX45 winch from the dealer, as well as, the mount kit for the winch. The winch comes with only a "10' corded remote switch" to control the winch. I will be doing the install myself as I don't feel like paying 2 hrs labor ($198) to have them install it. What I would like to do is install the corded switch outlet that is supplied, but also install a dash mounted winch switch as well. What I need is advice on connecting the dash mounted switch so I can use either the dash switch or corded switch depending on the job I'm doing.

So does anyone here have any good wiring ideas for the dash switch, maybe photos of the wiring of your switch, or any good advice to help me along. Installing the winch as it comes with the mount kit is no problem for me, really just need help adding in an additional switch. Actually, the instructions that come with the winch are very good, but I'm adding a switch to the mix. Many THANKS!

Well, I think I found the answer. The SxS Club Store has available for the P1000 and P700 using a factory Warn Winch a pigtail and switch to solve my problem. It's really is just a plug and play. Many thanks to the Club Store!

I do have one question though. Does anybody know what brand switch they use so I can match up other switches I will need? Just looking to have matching switches on a panel for a factory look.

Thanks

I just got a winch installed on my 700-4. It’s a KFI 4500lbs winch. Dealer installed. It has only the hand held corded remote to use it and it is wired to the glove box. I don’t have a toggle switch. So far I love it. I like it being in the glove box so it is concealed.

I have the same winch and I want to use a rocker switch rather or have both options. Can you share the part number?

Link below.
This item uses a premium Carling switch with V series rocker.

It's made to work with the Honda factory warn winch that only comes with the corded remote. It is 100% plug-n-play. There is an optional green wire you can ground to illuminate the switch.

You might want to reconsider your tie off points.
