Have you checked the air pressure in your tires? Too much can make for a harsh ride.

Hi Nibsy, welcome to the site.

I'm new to SxSx but have a Talon R. The X rides stiffer than the R, there are aftermarket springs available if lightening the preload doesn't help enough. Since this might not be seen by many in the Intro section, I'll tag @TerryH since I know he's modded his X suspension a bit.

The X needs aftermarket tender springs. You'll gain nothing by raising the preload adjusters other than lowering the ride height. Honda/Fox has not done us any favors with the spring selection. The main springs are not too bad but the tenders are useless, especially on the back. Bandit UTV Suspensions has got a great handle on what needs to be done. Their tender springs will definitely soften the ride. Unfortunately they are closed for a couple more weeks because of the virus. Here's the link to the springs on their site. Best $200 you can spend on an X. I'll link my videos on the subject also.

Anyone know if the preload for an x4 with bandit tender springs is the same as the x 2 seat. My bandit tender kit didn’t come with recommended preload for x4 and I have not been able to find anything out.

Terry covers that in the two videos above - 5" front, 4" rear (exposed threads from the base of the shock head to the top of lock ring).

Thanks for info. All the info and videos I’ve seen have been on the 2 seater didn’t know if anyone with the x4 knew of the same preload worked or if they had one that they used that worked good.

You will really be way ahead to go thru that process form the video. Super easy and doing that will get you just right for your exact weight.
