P1000 JEGS heater?

Has anyone installed one of these? Seems like a cheap alternative for heat.

The price is right. One of the things that is frequently mentioned as an issue with Pioneers is need for windshield defrosting. With this Jegs unit you’re giving up floor space in the cab, but that space isn't that useful in most situations. I ended up buying an Ice Crusher system from UTVHeater.com. It has six outlets including 2 defrost vents. Literally just got it installed, so haven't had a good opportunity to see how well it works yet. I‘m confident it will work well.

The Jegs has 6 as well, there are 2 optional defrost ports on the bottom. The defrost kit is $27 I think. I’ll check out the ice crusher.

Where do you mount the ice crusher heating unit? Can’t use the spot under the hood as that’s where the 2nd battery goes.

Mounts under the front clip on the firewall below the batteries. Pretty well engineered, but a tight fit. Certaintly does not compete with the price of the Jegs heater though. It has a factory look and doesnt take up any floor space. The heater is mounted up higher than the ones that have the heater core mounted below the seat that are susceptible to flooding

Well just installed jegs heater under the seat.Not the model that your looking at.Install was tuff but not to bad had to make brackets it is mounted like the stock honda install.Tie into oil cooler lines and you have heat in about 2 min.I have 140 degree air coming out in about 10 min seems to work well for now.No defrost vents in mine didnt want to run a hose that far and around the driveshaft.JOE

I have put 2 of those in different enclosed forklifts. They work well.

They will cook you right out of the forklift cab, which is a lot smaller that the pioneer inside. The doors on the forklifts also seal really well, so I usually crack a window to let a little cool air in. It might be just right in the pioneer.

I was looking at the same thing. I think it would be much better than the factory option. Summit racing has some very similar options as well.

I installed an 18,000 btu inferno under seat with two vents below seat and two in the dash. I have soft uppers and real panel and sealed everything up in the cab. Might be a little different story with hard cab and depends on how cold it gets where you are at but I’d say more btu’s the better.

Notices you folks are running 1K engines.
I have a bunch of parts and plan to build a heater but my concern with all of these is that the heater will suck the heat out of the 700 cooling system unless it's working pretty hard. The heater core I bought is a third the size of the 700's radiator and I"m not sure if the engine will maintain a good running temp. The 2 fans I bought are 240 CFM each running thru a 4" tube into two 2" "Y's"...3 of them for the floor and one for a defroster hose. I could put a valve in the radiator in let hose and shut it off and use the only for heating.

You could always put a winter front on the radiator. The heater core I have is 14,000 btu. It has three 2” outlets, with each outlet feeding two 2” wyes. The return air duct is a single three inch duct. I think the fan is rated at 240 cfm.

Yes Sir...more than one way to skin a cat...in case you have the need to do so.
I'll go with the JEGS 260 CFM and 28K BTU with a 3 speed. That will also fit the front of the 700 easier and the motor pulls less current.

Thanks for your comments...I think they brought me back to a more reasonable heating solution!!
