It’s warming up and I can’t believe how much heat the Talon puts out. No wonder I was so comfortable in colder weather. I was thinking about removing my lower doors, I thought what a hassle that would be and would it make a difference? Then I remembered my buddy has a device on his RZR that props his doors open. I checked and yes they make them for Talons and Pioneers

I tested them out windshield closed up to 65mph. It got a nice amount of air, but never overwhelming. I still plan to do some insulation over the radiator return lines and seal off the firewall holes. The other great feature is you can still use your door handle to quickly open the door if you need to.

I have been riding with my roof off and so far I think it might be cooler with the air flow out the top. I like the open feel it gives as well but when the summer heat hits I shall see how it works.

I took some 2” rubber isolated pipe clamps and made some approx. 3”x7” 1/4” lexan painted them black mounted them on top front of roll bar they look like sun visors lol but they are to redirect air back down into cab. Works pretty good moves a lot of air back down I only have a half windshield probably wouldn’t work on a full.

Why wouldn’t you just crack open your super atv windshield?
I'm a desert rat at heart and pretty much a cold wimp. #sissy With that said, the Talon will cook you out even with the windshield open, the 'tub' holds warm air, it's like sitting in a hot tub regardless of how fast you go.

I had planned to be in the desert this spring but covid killed that so my plans are spending the summer exploring the Rockies, a lot of that above timberline. I think the cab warmth will be welcome at 11,000 ft and up. Have you seen @PaulF 's tunnel project? He blocks off the firewall opening completely and insulates the radiator hoses under the console. Photos are in the Cab Dust Control thread. I'll be trying something similar 'eventually'.

I went for my first 80* ride today (before the drizzle started) and damn near cooked myself like a turkey. But after the drizzle started it was nice. This was at 7000 feet, so I'll have to head higher when the days heat up. Those door holder open brackets might be the best of both worlds, circulation when it's hot and a warm tub to sit in when it's cold(er). There's a lot of riding above timberline here (11,500 ft) and it can get a bit chilly up there, even mid summer. I bought a beer for the guy who packed the rain coat. 😎

You need to block off the tunnel like Paul F did, he said it made a huge difference in cab heat and dust. He posted pics in the dust control thread - post #11.
