I searched and can’t find a good thread about aftermarket P5 cab door options. If I goofed and missed it, please post a link.

I’m enclosing the cab on a ‘17 P5. I have an EMP laminated glass (metal frame) windshield and an EMP metal roof on order. I next need doors for cold weather riding here in Montana. Hunting, plowing out a long driveway.

Hard doors, soft doors- lots of options. I found a pair of used Falcon Ridge soft doors for $175 locally. The seller is 84 and said he does not like twisting around to open/ close the zippers when he sees an elk or deer. I don’t “road hunt” and get where I’m going, park and take off on foot. He did say the cab is warm only from the engine heat.

What doors you folks have and like?

I looked around for a bit but ended up with the OEM Honda P520 specific soft doors. I can't comment on how they hold up or anything other than what I've read.

Was originally looking at hard doors/cab, but the only option I could find was the Alumilite and they are pricey!

From what I've seen/read the window will open with the zipper, but the doors are actually secured on the frame

I think there are new doors.
Thought I heard they replace the lower (stock) door.
Wouldn't know for sure, I don't run full doors.

On the thread you linked to is an interesting fact. Running the factory doors hinged at the rear can be a problem trailering the P5 at highway speeds. Wind outside and a pressure build up inside can pop one open.

I don’t know how much a problem that is. Soft doors could be rolled back and secured with velcro or bungee cords.

Still waiting on my 520, but have read up on it. Seems like you either need to have a bungee or something around the cab to hold the door pressure, towable cover ($180), or removing the doors prior to trailering (thought I read on prior post just 4 allen bolts to remove for transport). I need doors and a full cab, so will figure it out more when I get the machine and doors.

I'm sure there are other dudes with way more knowledge than I got - just going off what I've read and seen.

I have the Honda rear hinged hard doors on my P1000-3. They heve not popped open while trailering at highway speeds, but I bungy cord the door handles together just to be sure they don’t.

My P1000-3 has dealer-installed Honda fabric upper doors. I'm completely satisfied with them and would buy them again.

The fabric uppers seal tightly in the door frame -much better than the hard lower doors. I've only owned the buggy a few months but have put 450 miles on it during the winter. The fabric insulates and keeps the cold out as well as if not better than the lowers.

The windows are of course surrounded by zippers. The zippers appear to be Honda factory quality but I don't zip and unzip them.

Anybody comment on the Falcon Ridge fitment? Before I start cutting the 2 rear velcro hold-downs to clear the cross members.

Here’s the side view of the door before putting the velcro pieces on the roll cage to keep the straps from rotating. It looks square.

The 2 lower hold down flaps beed to have a piece cut out the width of the cross members to mate with velcro I’ll put on the roll cage.

Am I missing something here?

Never mind! It was a cold day and I got on it with a pair of scissors to trim the mounting flaps to fit.

This is my first project in my new home’s workshop. Git ‘r done.

I have the Honda doors. If I were to buy doors again, it would be the zip doors. They seal up better.
