I talked to to Club Store owner last year at the TO and he said he was thinking about putting a recovery kit together, we all got busy and I forgot to follow up with him. The reason I'm posting here is if he has put together a system, he will be answering all our questions at the same time. I've got everything but a snatch block, I have no experience with them, those that do, we would appreciate some feed back. Thanks!

Do you have any soft shakles? If not you need to get a couple of the 1/2" size. Then add on of these Screenshot 20220330 163213 Amazon Shopping
Im acually working on some custom recovery rings as we speak. Testing ingraving options now. Hope to have something ready by TO.

Yes I do (soft shackles). I've seen these, just didn't know how well they work / hold up. Have you used them?

Let us know if it's possible to get them ready for TO, I'm in for two.

@Todd627 posted some snatch blocks in the NTC this morning

OK, back on topic. I have the same type of set up that @Tramguage1 is talking about, super lightweight and works great.

That’s what I use as well, I keep one snatch block on the rig for wire rope as well.

Same winch block, designated for wire rope only?
Those snatch rings are typically for synthetic rope, which is what I have, I also keep a snatch block for wire rope on hand just in case someone I’m riding with has to winch me but has a wire rope winch.

What block would you recommend for wire?
I just have the one that came with my viper winch. It was clean but got used for wire rope once so that’s it’s designation now. Once they have wire rope ran through them you don’t want to use them with a synthetic rope.

Totally understand, I think the wire is defiantly on the way out, but would be good to have one wire block on hand.
