How many other as are looking into the Lifetime Maps Tablet option?
I' liking what I'm seeing. It also includes some maps from a couple western states.
Looks like if I run all the trails in my local park, they will add that to the map database also.
This just looks like a good option. What's everyone' thoughts???

Since they offer the ability to send in your tablet and have the maps added vs just buying a tablet out right I have started looking at. I too asked them if they would be adding additional trails from other areas and they replied that their is an option to send tracks to them - that peaked my interest.

I have been using back country Navagator as the probgram to record my tracks and it has worked well. One additional thing that looks positive is they are developing a video series for training to use their maps and a forum for buyers to have access to ask questions. Seems like they are really supporting their product.

May send mine in by end of week

My thoughts exactly. It must be Android 6.0 or better. My tablets are to old to add there software. So I'm looking at purchasing a new pad and adding a 256gb card. Then I can load massive amounts of music to be Bluetoothed to my Bazooka Bar. I also have an upgrade on my extra phone. Could get a tablet that I can us on my phone network also.
Just trying to have 1 device!

I have given up on the one device I think lol... I am always going to have my phone with me so for now at least I will continue to run music from it ... but I am going to move the music over to the Tablet at some point I think.

This is exactly what I’m doing.. I have another 8” tablet coming to compare to my 7” tab a and will decide which I like and fits better. Then I’ll send in this week. I’ve been searching for cases (it’s a shame lifeproof doesn’t make a case for the Samsung tablets).. I ordered this sealline pouch last night... once i decide on tablet and location I’ll look at mounting options.

I am. It looks like a no brainer to me. Get a tablet cheap and send to them or just buy from them.

Any reason not to buy from them? Seems like a good deal.

You need to ensure any tablet you buy has a functioning GPS chip, and all are not created equal. The best track up to 12 satellites at once for best precision, cheaper chips only do 6 or 4 sats, takes 3 at any given time for proper tracking and elevation.

A comparison between the 7” and 8” Samsung tab A.. a really cool feature on the 8” is split screen. You can view two apps at the same time!

I did.. amazon, so I’ll keep which I prefer and return the other. I need to study where I’ll put it and which will fit better. The smaller tablet has that going for it and is noticeably lighter. The bigger is obviously larger and has a little better tech. I just can’t decide if the split screen is import to me that the 8” offers. Would be cool for a backup camera and maps or maps and tunes. Just not sure if it’s terribly important. There are advantages and disadvantages and I go back and forth between them. Battery life is 11 hours on the small tablet and 14 on the larger. Larger uses newer type c usb vs the smaller has the more common micro usb. First world problems!

Put it in your truck and do split screen with maps and something else running and see how the maps part tracks while in split screen mode. Android is pretty easy to switch back and forth between apps running at same time. The new us c plug is much easier to use while in dark or bumpy situations. It' similar to the Apple, it can be plugged in any direction.

I figured you would like the bigger one with the split screen so you can see the trail map on one side and watch porn on the other side. Lol

So far many of us use the ORUXMAPS app on Android , depending on where you ride, such as TN the original post in this thread is the best.
