Has anyone mounted a light bar directly to the plastic OEM roof? Thinking about adding a 30” light bar to top and was curious if anyone attempted with big washers or something and had any issues with the plastic being strong enough. Seems like I have seen this discussed in the forum previously.

That's how i did it on the Donkey, think it was a 24" or so light bar, used big fender washers under it, worked great.

Thank you for the response. Was curious if this was feasible and I have my answer!

You'll have no problems, the roof is quite strong

I got a double row 13" fastened to the under side of roof. Just to keep low branches from snagging.

If you do mount one to the roof I'd recommend doing the @jak9922 threaded rod mod. The two side bolts supplied with the light have a tendency to work their way out, had mine swinging by one bolt out on the trail. Happened to Jak too and he came up with the fix. That pic of @ToddH was my old light and you can see his between the two brackets down low. Here it is on my current one, makes it solid. ;)

Thanks for the info. Can you explain what you mean by shading of the surface with the bumper mount?
