Hello,
We rode some trails at Mt. Magazine, AR yesterday and had a blast. We’re running 28’s and had a little rubbing on the Honda front fender flares on some of the bigger bumps.
Yes! You park at the horse camp entrance and it’s free. They told me at the Visitors Center (get the map there) that there’s 168 miles of trails to ride. It’s beautiful.Good looking pioneer! Is there a Off Road park there?
I never knew there was that many miles to ride there. Might be a good place for a future group ride.Yes! You park at the horse camp entrance and it’s free. They told me at the Visitors Center (get the map there) that there’s 168 miles of trails to ride. It’s beautiful.
May have to come down there and do that! I live up the hill in Fayetteville area and have only camped at Mt. Magazine. Never knew they had a ATV trail system. Let me know if you go again, I’d like to ride with you guys!Yes! You park at the horse camp entrance and it’s free. Yes, it’s the Horse Camp location at the park. About 2 miles from the Visitors Center. We only saw ATV riders but I’m told they ride horses on these trails too.@Beeper589 Very cool! I'm just across the border in NEOKLA. Couple of questions:
1. Is the horse camp you mentioned Horse Camp ?
2. I tend to ride solo with my dogs. What is the terrain like for someone who would ride alone? Is it technical (Oh crap, I can get stuck) or are the pretty basic options?
Thanks!
The camp ground is a very nice one. Full hookups, fire rings, a bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers.A quick check shows cabins are crazy expensive. I'll look into it further and see if there are other options near there that have access to the trails. Would be cool to have an annual Mt. Magazine ride.
