Hello,
We rode some trails at Mt. Magazine, AR yesterday and had a blast. We’re running 28’s and had a little rubbing on the Honda front fender flares on some of the bigger bumps.

Yes! You park at the horse camp entrance and it’s free. They told me at the Visitors Center (get the map there) that there’s 168 miles of trails to ride. It’s beautiful.
I never knew there was that many miles to ride there. Might be a good place for a future group ride.

@Beeper589 Very cool! I'm just across the border in NEOKLA. Couple of questions:

1. Is the horse camp you mentioned Horse Camp ?

2. I tend to ride solo with my dogs. What is the terrain like for someone who would ride alone? Is it technical (Oh crap, I can get stuck) or are the pretty basic options?

Thanks!

May have to come down there and do that! I live up the hill in Fayetteville area and have only camped at Mt. Magazine. Never knew they had a ATV trail system. Let me know if you go again, I’d like to ride with you guys!

I've lived in central Arkansas my entire life and have never been there. Might have to check it out before to long.

Yes, it’s the Horse Camp location at the park. About 2 miles from the Visitors Center. We only saw ATV riders but I’m told they ride horses on these trails too.
The trails we rode we’ve fairly basic. We saw a couple of muddy “crap I might get stuck” locations but we had our 8 month old puppy with us and we all did fine. There was a creek crossing but there are larger, easier trails and more difficult ones to choose from.

A quick check shows cabins are crazy expensive. I'll look into it further and see if there are other options near there that have access to the trails. Would be cool to have an annual Mt. Magazine ride.

The camp ground is a very nice one. Full hookups, fire rings, a bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers.

Start a annual ride there, in mild weather months, April or October, when tenting would be pleasant, or stay in our RV...😎

Love that place! My dad is from Paris, AR, and I spent many summers back there with my little Honda CT70.
