New to forums in general, so be patient please. I’m looking for info about free trail gis guidance. We’re heading to Michigan in a few days and would like to have this. Polaris has “Ride Command” app but you need to own a Polaris to get it. Just wondering if Honda has something similar?

Welcome from Fl. Honda does not have a trail app (to my knowledge). I use OnX offroad and Gaia GPS. Both have free versions/trials but require a subscription to use all the features.

Welcome from da Yoop. I've had good luck with a Samsung Tablet running the Orux app with VVMapping's maps.

Welcome to the forum from Texas
I don't think Honda offers anything like ride command. But, others may know of technology and software that will essentially do the same thing. Stand by....

On edit..
I didn't realize others were already replying. You will get some info.

WARNING: this post is informational and not to be construed as an endorsement.

Honda dose have an accessory for navigation - however it is not free.

I have the same model tread from Garmin.
It moves between my SxS and truck and occasionally gest stuck in a backpack.
In my opinion, it is not as good as a dedicated system like lifetime trail maps (also a pay app).
The Garmin was great for back country roads in Colorado with the truck.
Some of the trail systems for the SxS are not well covered in the Garmin.
But it is better than Avenza (the free version) and ride command (free version from several years ago).

The problem with the free ones I have tried is they are finicky.
I'm too damn old to have to mess with it to make it work.
Back in the day a paper map was ready to use - no needing to update or searching for signal.

The 2 pay systems I have used are relatively straight forward - turn it on and go.
I suppose that is what I was paying for...

Welcome from Alabama. I have Lifetime Trail Maps loaded on a galaxy tab. They offer two versions: Basic is a one time price for the software (or you can order it loaded on a tablet) and updates maps and adds new routes once a year for free. Premium is a subscription based that I believe updates maps and new routes monthly. I'm not familiar with the other options stated above. Good luck.
