P500 New Windshield

My Honda Flip up windshield took a beating at the takeover and has a few cracks which are spreading. So, I decided to go ahead and order the SuperATV flip up windshield. It costs nearly as much as a regular vehicle windshield but I'm hoping it'll be worth it. With the Honda flip up, I never felt like it got enough airflow especially in desert or hot climates. With the new one that will all change. I'd like to figure out how to make the lower part flip up too for access to the hood area without having to unbolt or unscrew anything while riding. The other reason was because when the Honda WS got dusty or dirty, it became difficult to see through. I don't think I'll have this problem with the new SuperATV WS.

Just got 1/2 that flips down and secures on hood. Wish there was a full that has a forward-folding-to-hood hinge at 1/2 height . Less chance of hitting branches than one that flips upward. May try mod of OEM full with piano hinge and use 1/2 model hood and top brackets. Could not see out of dusty full windshield during takeover! Just thinking, would call it Safari Style.

Might save the old, an older thread on using it as a frame for a laminated glass insert. Not expensive for a try out. wondering if the oem would cut ok with jig saw.

I got the new windshield but I'm replacing the front roll cage first because of the bend it received at the Takeover. It's got a 5" long dent in the tube metal as well. It Ain't Purdy! That and I want the new windshield to fit it correctly. Resale value etc...

Just a thought, these threaded knobs on my new 1/2 windshield are really nice, don’t know if you could mod for quick no tool removal for hood access,...or try oem quick clamps, just got some for $8. Sure Bayleaf will like the added wind.
