P1000 Noise level

I thought I'd try to do what CP did with the db meter. I downloaded this app...



I'm using an iPhone 6 and took the measurements at ear level in the front drivers seat. I took the phone out of the case for measuring. I also noticed that if parked in a garage or next to a wall, the sound read louder so, I parked far from anything for the idle tests.

Other notes are:
1: 2016 P1000-5D
2: no windshield or deflector
3: full oem roof
4: snorkel on the front makes a little more noise
5: sound deadening/ heat barrier material under the seat and around engine compartment.
6: no doors or cab enclosure
7: 725 miles
8: full belly UHMW skid plate

This is idle


This is neutral at 3000rpm


This is driving in manual mode, 2nd gear, 3000rpm, very slight incline on concrete.

It's quieter driving?? 69 isn't bad at all I think Honda generators are 64. How many miles Joey? I didn't have mine set to average that'll be more accurate I'll do that

Good thought on the miles. I updated the first post.

I can actually tell that it sounds quieter while driving. I think if the motor is under a slight load it seems to quite down some. It is not what I expected to see.

I'm sure belts won't be quieter driving. Sure be interesting so see a bunch of people with different options as well as a bunch of other makes. Could be a damn fun thread!

Got any "egg crate" foam like some people put on their beds?

It would be cool to do the same test with some stuck to the inside of the roof just for giggles.
