  1. Looking to buy
I just changed the oil on my 2016 p500 and used the 10w40 as well. Been using it in my 2015 Rubicon when the 10w30 wasn't in stock. No worries on the 10w40 at all.

The oil change was easy but getting to the oil filter was a PITA. The designer of that system is a sadistic individual.

Just a bit of a temperature range difference. Unless you're in an extreme environment (very hot or very cold) you shouldn't have to worry.
My $0.02

I did my first oil change....I didn't find it all that difficult or time consuming.....I did notice it's a lot quieter..... I ordered up some 10w30 and used that instead of the 10W40....I plan on using the 10W40 this summer if it's a hot one

Don't we have a 500 mile service interval for the engine? So basically it's using half a quart between oil changes. A lot more than I would expect but probably not the end of the world. Did you do the 100 mile service?

Honda's "semi dry sump" engines can have the oil vary a bit depending on what procedure you use. You must follow what the owners manual states including runtime/temp and duplicate it every time. I saw this on the 700, and have already seen it on the 500.

Oil viscositys are not that complicated. My grandpa worked for Mobil back in the day and all the multi-Vis oils are what the first number sez. In your case, it's just 10 weight oil with the protection of a 40weight. In other words there are more additives within that bottle of 10w40 oil than 10w30. 5w30 is 5 weight oil with the protection of a 30w. etc...

Yep, did the 100 mile, 600 and now 1200. With the move to synthetic, wondering if longer intervals could be ok?
