P1000m5 Oregon - Memorial Day Thunder Egg Rock Hunt

Spent the weekend Rock Hounding for Thunder Eggs in the Ochoco mountains at about 5800 ft in elevation. Prineville, Oregon.
Got muddy, baptized and frozen all weekend but had a great time.

Thunder eggs are cracked on your head by God when your truly Baptized and if they come out with a smooth crack you are truly going beyond the Pearly gates into Heaven! HA! No I haven't seen @100Acre since the Take Over! HA! Nice rocks though!

They are volcanic air channels that deposit and trap minerals. Sometimes precious, like gold, gem stones, ect. Think of them as an

air way during volcanic activity. They look like golf balls to water melon size. Then you split or saw them to find the thunder. They are a geode, correctly speaking.
Pretty valuable. This pic is about 250 bucks plus, depending on presentation.

Do you cut them? In Hot Springs area just south of us we have quartz, some pretty clear and diamonds in Muffiesburo

Have you checked out the limb casts. Great digging in that area also. That area has really good riding.
