We were talking about the P500 tipping on another forum so I did a little test yesterday. I tipped the 500 up (had a safety strap just incase I goofed) and wanted to see if it was easily flopped on its side. I never took it all the way to the tip point, I quit while it was stable and could not easily be pushed over. Here are some photos to give an idea of the tip angles. I got a rough reading of 30 degrees on an angle gauge and then lifted it a little more without it tipping.

That's interesting. I have wondered about it too. With the 700 as well. I would end up turning mine on its side if I tested it lol. I have turned it on its side twice riding.

Funny you mentioned that - I ran a safety strap and kept about an 1"-2" of slack in it "Just in case"
Really didn't want to flop it over in the center of the garage.....

I thought about doing this too. Though I wouldn't mind trying it in a safe area... I do know 30 deg in the shop and 30 deg on the side of a mountain, looking down, is a totally different feeling that I'm not sure I want to be a part of. lol.
Another guy installed one of those manual meters. (forgot what it is called) to measure tipping point and marked his "red" zone.
Scott, you've been volunteered to do real world testing and report back in the 700 section. lol.

And wear every ounce of mud that touches the tires!

Yea. I'm not doing that for sure. I hate cleaning it off. Whenever I get a lift and tires it might turn on side easier tho.

It's called a inclinometer. Here's the one built in my f150.

They also make phone apps for inclinometers or you can purchase a dash mount.

I've thought about buying one and putting in in the shot from the GOPRO, video doesn't do hills justice.
You'll be about to roll over backwards and it looks almost flat.

That's very true and a pretty good idea. I've got the phone app but I don't want to mess with my phone mount and calibrating it before every ride as the mount may move.
