I picked up a switch panel without the pocket. Good quality and the customer service was excellent. Monaco went out of his way to ensure the order was correct and gave me a discount to boot. The knock outs are built in. There’s room for 7 switches and 2 small round meters or chargers. The custom name is a bowl of bonus nachos. 😉 I’d buy it again. 😎

Anything need to be cut behind the panel when installing a new panel with switches? You can feel a support brace behind the safety panel.

It depends on the depth of the switches. There’s some brackets back there that some members cut. I didn’t cut mine. But I did stagger my switches to avoid the bracket as seen in my pic below. 😎 I have my pioneer apart still so I can get a pic of said bracket later if I remember. 😉

Yeah it depends. The biggest obstacle is the bar that runs across the lower side, which is why i couldn't make two rows of switches. Another factor is your wiring method; if you use the big bulky wiring "blocks" to connect to the rear of the switches, you may have some trouble.

Yes. The wiring blocks are what I’m talking about that add the depth. I was also thinking a 1/2” to 3/4” spacer 3D printed would be a viable option instead of cutting the metal. Something like the drawing below. Just an idea. Nothing more nothing less. 😉😎

or if you can incorporate the spacing into your panel but I’m not sure if that would be better or worse for the masses. ✌🏾

Yeah that’s a great idea and I have played a bit with it. What would you see as fasteners? Maybe It could be a screw and nylock nut, but it would be a huge PITA to mess around with nuts from the back.

You’re right about the fasteners and that’s where my idea fizzled out. I’m definitely enjoying the fact that I can use the push pins to secure the panel. You would have to mount the spacer with nylok nut and bolt to the machine and figure how to attach the panel to the spacer with the plastic push pins. 😉😎

The spacer plate was already being thought thru but was not sure if it was needed. I already have black 1/4 and 1/2" polymer/cutting board material mostly that I can use if needed. The 700 is not at the house and trying to prepare.
Thanks for all the help!

Let me know if you want a spacer - I'd be happy to make one for you to play with.

The question is, who's going to test it, lol
I have some ideas though. I think I can work it out with push clips.
I’ll test it for ya. If’n you don’t have no one. I would like the push clip feature just so you don’t have to mess with it behind the dash. It’s already tight back there 🤣😎

This spacer is 3/8 UHMW and it worked great. Just taped it on with that heavy duty double sided tape then used black screws to secure the plate. Allowed for enough room install those switch housings.

Sorry i don't have a final image as this was for a client. 9f8ec7282544e90c26029bbddd7977c2A2216d09009f98435ffb6a9c1324c20391d13b63106a8facd6c29224e4b19588265f4769c19a68e2f61704149aab859c54e9a78309dd2138f1b222a63d9494d1
