P1000 paddle shift question

got a new pioneer 1000-5 deluxe. I am new to this and away from my operators manual, My question is in regards to the paddle shift. Can i shift up or down for that matter regardless of manual/auto or sports mode

Yes you can shift with the paddle at any time. In Auto if you down shift, after a couple of seconds the Automatics picks back up

Yup... just be aware and listen to the motor. Just like on a manual truck, you don’t want to slam it down a gear if you don’t need to.

Unit will also auto downshift in manual mode to keep from damaging clutches. It only really does it when your coming to a stop or slow down to a low speed.
