P700 PBR tailgate brackets

Installed the PBR tailgate brackets yesterday, I never understood why Honda didn’t make them that way to begin with.
Honda Pioneer 1000, 700, and 500 Tailgate extender / leveling mounts

Never understood why they didn't make them lay flat. I stole this idea from a few here and used a couple pieces from Tractor Supply for a cheap fix.

I used these also. I broke a cable about a month ago. Bought a new 1 from partzilla for $15 and broke the other 1 last week. So ordered a set from @Farmer on ebay for $23. Eliminates those pieces from TSC and alot stronger also.

I have the honda bed extender and had a heavy cooler back there both times. Neither 1 broke completely. They just broke multiple strands of wire. I'm hoping yours does the trick.

I hope so too. Looks like you're my new R&D guy. I've never heard of anyone breaking tailgate cables on their Pioneer! That's quite the feat! LOL!

70qt with beer and water. Hitting the water breaks kinda hard made it bounce some. I guess that's what got it.

they did it that way to keep fat butt brotherinlaw from sitting on it.

Decided to try out stock cables with a 54qt. Cables seemed sturdier than the tailgate itself
