The old pipe insulation I had wrapped around my side bars wore off over the past 2 years, so I replaced it with new foam and zip tied it in place. It’ll be nice to have a little padding both inside and out. It’s the kind that has a sticky edge so it holds it in place better than non stick. I used one 6’ length to do both side bars.

That thing's gonna be ready to rock by the time you're done! What's funny is the rub marks on the rops, looks like a seasoned machine, yet all the Honda paint marks are still on the bolts, lol. They were on mine too and I wonder if the dealers shouldn't be cleaning those off? They obviously don't wear off. Nice work Gnome! ;)

I'm thankful I have an older one. Those look really intrusive. Same on the 700.

I think I would have used electrical tape to hold it on there. There is nothing like dragging your arm across the ends of those tie wraps cut off like that, works just like a paper shredder. I need to put some more on my 700 also, in rough terrain I'm always bumping my elbow on that son of a gun.

That’s why I turned all the zip ties down. No army scratchy...I may go ahead and cover it all in electrical tape. Dealing with other stuff right now.

The foam I had on there before lasted nearly two years and it kept the bars from being dinged and scratched after having flopped 8 or 9 times now.

Also I had never put it on the passengers side, but now it’s on both.

They smoothed the back road in that picture up a lot end of the year. Pissed me off I always loved that area. Could drive up it now in turf mode:(
Its ok buddy, that area got heavy snow this year so, I’d imagine once a rut, always a rut. I fill in the ones on the home trail and soon enough, they get deep again.

Should go divert some water to it before summer
