P500 Pics of 500 vs 520

We picked up our 520 today and the dealer had a 500 next to a 520 The 500 was a little dirty and was in for a service and it had 25 inch tires. There are a few differences mainly the exhaust pipe and an addition of some front inner fender protection that I liked. the roll cage was just about the same with an added bar to the frame under the drivers seat. I have never rode in a 500 so can't comment on the shocks. They have the same design from the looks but the part number if different so I assume the valving may be slightly different.

They beefed up the top of the cage with some angles. All of those wheel skirts might be add ons for the P5 and I want the one behind the gas tank. Looks like the guy with the P5 got ripped off and Honda missed that curved frame pc behind the drivers seat? When I made one for mine I wrapped that bar.

Thanks. Looks like the P520 has two gussets on the drives side roll bar the 500 didn't get. Like the P520 exhaust,sweet.

Is that curved support supposed to come with the 500 or was it an add on for the 520? My 500 doesn't have one either.

Wonder if the new fender well protector will fit a 500? Seen too many stick protrusions in the cab so I added a metal plate. A good addition although it should have gone all the way to the top.

As close as I could see it looked like with a little work and some fasteners I think a person could put them on a 500. A double inner fender was one upgrade I wanted to find or make as on three recent trip I have seen 2 inch diameter sticks stuck up in A-arms. One buddy broke his wildcat floor as a 6ft long limb got caught up and he couldn't even see it

Does anyone have a 2019 that has the curved support bar. Wondering if they just came on the 2015 and 2016 years. And 2017 and up they didn't add them?

The 500 I took the picture of was a 2018 and on the red 520 we bought the bar was was there

Anybody upgraded to a 520 from a 500 yet? I really like my 500 but I would upgrade if there is a considerable power difference. Call me childish but my nephew has a 500 too and if a 520 could whoop him in a drag race it would be worth it 😂. Aren't I a good uncle?

I like my aluminum bed on my 500 better than the plastic 520 bed and the Elka shocks on my 500 ride better than the upgraded 520s stock shocks (but they would transfer I'm assuming).

Correct, bar was dropped after 2016.
P520 added it back along with some gussets on the roll bar it looks like.

On the other side that pipe is holding up the gas tank.
I think the the exhaust on the left side nixes a second gas tank, besides my bladder is not that big.
Mine doesn’t have the pipe and I don’t see any disadvantage (yet).
Besides l would rather see them put the money in to something useful like a ch00gbox.

Yes I have a 2019, however the bar must serve a purpose as well as gussets on roll cage. My thing is this, 2015 and 2016 had them, then 2017 to 2020 no bar. Then 2021 reintroduced it on 520? Weird, do the 2021 pioneer 500s have them, ? Probly not. The more support the better that looks like a good spot to have support. Thanks for replying. I'm a curious individual.
