I am starting to look around at the Pioneer 500 as a machine for me and the wife to take riding down on the Hatfield and McCoy trails. What is the realistic pricing on the machine? I would prefer a camo one but Green is also fine with me. Is $8500 a real price (not counting tax, just everything else) or am I crazy for thinking the dealers may deal a bit.
Also those of you with a rear "bed" - are you pleased with the Honda option or did you go a different route. My wife would like to have a way to move her garden stuff around and a bed is important as a selling point for me - I mean Honda......
Thanks in advance

I can get a pioneer 500 for $8270 out the door here in Nebraska. Will have to pay sales tax at the courthouse when registering it.

Dealers here in southern Illinois are getting 8500 and cant keep them in stock.
I have the honda bed which is better than nothing but I would look at other options.....
mainly it doesnt have a gate to keep things from sliding out the back.

I also have the honda bed. It does have notches for 2x4s. I cut a couple up and made spots for my chainsaw, bar oil, gas, wood.

I picked mine up in late July in north central pa.
The first one the dealer had.
paid 8500 including setup and delivery (which most dealers charge an extra 500-600 for) plus tax
it was the best deal I could get at the time.
Now the dealer cant get them fast enough :D

I just bought a red one three weeks ago. Paid the full price. I had to wait three weeks for the dealer to get one. They are selling in Denver faster than they can get them. Not much room for dealing. I am finding out that the cost of the machine is just the beginning. I keep finding things I really need. Winch, light bars for the front and back, building a top, windshield, and racks for the top and back, etc. I'm going to go buy some more steel and make bumpers. Did I mention the draw bar and hitch ball? Gun rack? The good thing is that I still get to play with it while I'm waiting for the snow to melt and the trails to open in the mountains.

Thanks for the info!!!
I could live with $8500 as that would sit me at 9K out the door with tax here so that is within budget. The add ons can come over time. Heck already have a brand new 3500 Terra winch waiting in the box waiting on a new machine.
I have a Mule FXT that I use for hauling wood, hunting and some trail riding but we would really like to have a P500 for Hatfield and the tight trails.
My wife has an OLD Mule (1993 with about 12hp with a small bed) and I am selling her on replacing her Mule with the P500 so I need a bed system. I am not sure why Honda does not have a "real" bed available - could be very similar but a bit higher and with a tailgate - add $150 and I think it would sell. I don't need to haul 1000lbs, just be able to throw her stuff in it and not have it fall out and be easy for her to access. May have to start fab something up when I get one.

Sharp. Welcome to the club...
Great job working the dealers. Maybe you would be so kind as to at least share the dealer name with us. Be nice to pick one up at a great buy.
Thanks.

If you live in N. Ms you already know they all will answer the phone. If you show your --s you pay top dollar. If you act like a GOD fearing Christian you get the family price same with vehicle dealers. I bought a new 2013 in 2013 Tacoma TRD 4 door loaded all the way out. Oxford Toyota came off the price $1800.00. I drove 107miles over into Al saved $3200.00, Tint on all windows including the strip across drivers windshield!!!!!!! I am 53 and was taught at home, sunday school and behind the house by my DADDY. If you can't say something good about someone keep your mouth shut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also if a man needs his --s whipped if you do it right he will not tell nobody or call the law!!!! That one is out of style now!!! Too many cellphone cams that are auto calling 5 o . Pray hard wear your helment and be polite cost 00.00 says HOOK

Mike,

Can you name the dealer? So far the best price I have received will require me to drive 11-12 hours. The dealers here stick to MSRP except 1. Then the "rest of the fees" pop up.

Try New England cycle in groton ct. They have a p5 and p7-4 on the lot right now. They will haggle either with accessories or on the bottom line. They will pay well on trades if you know how to work the sales guy a little. Shouldn't be more then a few hour drive from u.

Hope that helps!

I paid around $10,000 but had the tip out windshield, hard roof, mirror and horn kit, large storage bag and a long aluminum ramp to get it in my pickup.

Hi all! New guy from AK. I settled for a Red P500 since the dealer has no idea when they'll be getting any yellow ones. I paid $8574 OTD with no accessories.

Fresh off the truck - they were expecting three and got only one so I snagged it.
