I set aside some time to wash the 500 after my two swamp rides. So far I have just taken the hose to it but today included a bucket, sponge and some soap to purdy it up.
I thrashed it pretty good on the last ride:
so I used this washing for inspection and familiarization as well.
If you saw the video, I was concerned about the undercarriage. No damage at all, not even a bent plastic skid-plate grommet. I did not see any suspension strikes either so it would seem Honda knows a little bit about UTV design. I have a hitch with a drawbar that has "Rise/Drop" and I have it mounted upside down(rise) to level out my trailer when I pull it. I didn't think about it at the time, but with "drop" it looks like it would be a stump magnet! I did see some root bark shoved into a tire bead and it made me wonder how close I came to an underwater tire change.
The vehicle cab seems to drain really well so I was liberal with the soapy water and rinse. All in all it cleaned up well so I won't get my hands dirty installing the new winch.
