P500 Post your rear rack or box. Pics.

So many good threads on racks, boxes and baskets scattered around. Thought a single thread for pics may help others decide or share ideas and save troubles. Have changed/modified mine over time based on good examples, never done with mods.. Getting it started for those who might pass up a P500 because of the bare rack. Latest change to a Yamaha UMax golf cart box. Consider single bolt conduit clamps vs u bolts for attachment to rack tubes.

Originally used the Honda storage bag.

But have since switched to the side mount truck toolbox. Hoping to add the Strongmade basket in the very near future.

Yeah I had reconfigured mine a couple of times. I don’t think I’m going to be happy until I make my own .....

I use a junk round baler belt and bolted it to existing holes. Worked ok but made the dust worse so I leave it off until I need it. Cost $0. I want to get a rack for my hitch so I don’t have to lift up to the bed.

I made a temporary box out of plywood just to see how it would function. Of course it became the permanent solution.

Functions as a kitchen table.

I can bungy awkward shaped items in.

I kept the box within the footprint of the rear rack to prevent scrubbing on trees etc. Expanded metal would be nice but my cost on the box using scrap plywood was zero plus some paint.

On the trail I carry extra fuel and a chainsaw. They don't budge. Sure wish Rotopax still sold green gas cans...

I added an 1/4” HDPE panel over rack, built an aluminum frame to mount boxes on and attached all to rack. Tools boxes fromHome Depot have gaskets to keep contents clean and dry. Take out 4 bolts and it all comes off.
