Rear diff making grinding noise

Just recently rose at busco beach in Goldsboro North Carolina my last night my rear differential started making a grinding and popping noise anyone know what could be a cause before I open it up and look for myself and start ordering parts….?

Are you sure it's your rear diff that's making noise? Nine times out of 10 times it's your axle. Hard to tell with your audio.

Could be the diff, could be an axle, maybe your sub trans. Not a lot to go on here.

Best place to start would be your rear diff adjustment. Follow this procedure
