P1000 Red/yellow paint on lugs ?

Is there any reason for the red and yellow pain on the lugs and studs of the p1k ? I swapped out my base model 12” steels for a set of deluxe 14s. My steels had open ended lugs with red paint on all four studs. The deluxe 14s I put on came with the lugs that have red pain on 8 and yellow paint on the other 8. They all seem the same.

I believe that is just a notation at the factory that they were QC'd. You will see many key fasteners on your machine "marked" if you start looking. I've been wrong before though.

Its just marking paint for QC check at the factory. The final checker is required to mark them as tight.

I'll be making the same wheel & tire exchange next week. So the lugs used on my 12" steel wheels will also work on the 14" aluminum wheels? Both are lug centric?

I was just asking about the paint. I’m not sure about if the lugs from the 12” steels will work in the aluminum 14s. I got the original lugs that went with the deluxe wheels. You will gain an inch in ground clearance and they look better.

Thanks. I didn't think to ask the vendor if I'll receive new lug nuts with my take-off wheels. My guess is I will not.

I hope the originals will work on the new wheels. Mine will look identical to yours.

I have 4 new wheels, lug nuts, and tires off my 1000 Deluxe for $800. That’s about half of regular price, but shipping may be high. 27 x 14s. Just have the dealer setup on them.
