Hi, second post hope its in the right place? I own a 700/4 2016 since new and have started doing some long overdue maintenance.
Started noticing rust around the welds of the frame and was shocked to Find how bad the rust is ( photos attached hopefully) some sections are paint with no steel left at all. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue? So I’m in the middle of rust proofing repainting and then trying to get as much fish oil to prevent happening again into frame, and remake floor panel and under fuel tank support. Will post more picks of progress if of any interest.

Looks like the salt plains of Australia. I’m thinking that one of the creeks running through my property is heavenly mineralised, I have an iron stone ridge there as well so just going to have to do a better job with wash down and corrosion protecting or go all stainless ha ha.

@Takura don't forget to treat the inside of the frame pipes.
I used an aerosol (spray can) product called Fluid Film that is made from sheep lanolin.
Any similar product will do the trick.
Try and get it inside any and all of the frame pipes, undo a bolt here and there to spray it in side.

And welcome to the fourm.

Yes for sure, thought I saw the replacement end caps for frame. So looking at doing a pull through where possible with some type of abrasive to remove the surface rust inside the frame.
Still got all the broken bolts to remove and replace as well, then rust converter squirted through out the inside of the frame then fish oil with the new end caps and seal best I can.
