There really are, note the attention to detail for the elongated holes accessing the 3 oil drain bolts. That Factory UTV skid is really nice!
One main big piece in middle with two smaller pieces in front and back? Are the overlaps potential hangups? There really are, note the attention to detail for the elongated holes accessing the 3 oil drain bolts.

Every version has a front and rear piece, no matter who sells it. Most kits are 5 pieces underneath instead of 3. The FUTV has an overlapping grove and they are perfectly flush. So if you're worried about seams hanging up the most every other design has 40% more chances to fail or hang up.One main big piece in middle with two smaller pieces in front and back? If I was starting from scratch again, it would be a 1 piece center. I ripped my one of my side pieces of last trip out.
Should have done nutserts to begin with.
Also add cross bracing and tube reinforcement while you are at it. Even with 1/2" UHMW , my side bars still got beat up pretty bad.
To me, that is the downside of UHMW-only skids. They don't add any strength or rigidity to the underside. I know the UHMW slides over rocks easier, but I'm still looking pretty hard at aluminum skids for that reason.
Definitely do this! I added a new brace under my pan and shifterI'd still reinforce the oil pan and protect the subtrans shifter with aluminum skids. You can bow aluminum and get the shifter stuck

What are nutserts?
I'm guessing FUTV provides self taping screws? Use these inserts instead? They are a threaded insert that can be installed in sheet metal similar to a rivet. It allows you to install and remove hardware in spots where typically the nut would be inaccessible

Also referred to as blind nuts and are very useful in this application! The only cons are that you have to drill the hole much larger than bolt, make sure that you use the correct size. What are nutserts?
I like them. I remove my skid plate a lot so they have been worth it for meI'm guessing FUTV provides self taping screws? Use these inserts instead?
