New owner of a 2018 P500. One of the first things I want to get is a spare tire. Was wondering if a spacesaver tire and rim from a compact car would have the same mounting hole pattern? Just something to get back to the truck if a branch goes thru a sidewall and the plug kit won't work. I'd prefer to have something smaller and lighter than carrying an extra full size wheel. Does anyone have an idea on where to look for a car rim with the 4 on 110 spacing?

Thanks, Sam

The solution I have been used for a few years is a small patch kit and 12 Volt air compressor Obviously this isn't going to do anything for a rip, but likely help with the vast majority of flats, i.e., thorns, nail, etc.

Won't work , won't be noticeably lighter , won't be much smaller . Buy a used alloy wheel for a pioneer 500 and an old tire . Try ebay or craigs list .

Probably right, and definitely looks like it wouldn't be cheaper either. I'll keep an eye out for a used wheel.

Thanks all for the input.

If you're looking for light weight, go for a front wheel....can be off just about any Japanese quad/sxs, most use the 4x110 pattern. As long as the OD is close it will get you back home.

I can highly recommend this dragonfire arm I bought a few months ago. I didn’t even have to cut my roof (took it off to fit properly). The bar diameter is really meant for a P1000, so I cut a piece of old tire I had lying around to put in the clamp and tighten it down, worked perfectly and have done over 100 miles of rocky trail with it and it hasn’t even moved. I have my full size spare Bighorn 26” on the arm.

I got it from this guy on EBay:

Load your tires with a flat proof liquid. Hi lifter makes a water solvable version they claim will fill holes from thorns to the size of a R.R. spike. Been riding Honda's since 1987, before that dirt bikes (you do the math) so far never had a flat that didn't get me home.
