What is everyone running for protection to the CV boots. I have a UHMW full skid from SSS, but forgot to order the arm guards. I have noticed people running the stick stopper brand and some doing the UHMW style, but they don't look like they come up as high.

Prefer UHM materiel for Skid & A-arm guards.
Do NOT like attachment method SSS uses for there UHM A-Arm guards that fit P500.

I don’t run A arm guards. The only CV boot I have ever lost was on a machine with guards. It holds too much crap.
That makes a lot of sense. I am on a rocky, sometimes muddy mountain that could clog them up in a hurry. I might see if my buddy with a machine shop could make me a set that won't cover the whole arm but protect the boot.

I put the Honda aluminum OEM stick stoppers on mine.

One problem that I've noticed over the years with CV boots where I ride and hunt in Florida, is tall wet grasses get wrapped around the boot.

As the amount of grasses build up they tighten down and cut/tear the boot.

Stick stoppers help but don't totally eliminate the problem; I pull out any grasses when I notice them starting to build up.

Similar problems with the thistle in South Dakota on our PDog trips. I put aluminum ones on after my first trip out there with it.

We have previously tried kevlar wraps and cut-up road marker cones on our ATV's but now are using lay-flat high-pressure hose on our P500's

Can you post a picture of your ride? Got me curious about whats behind the bumper.
This one is a 2018 Honda Foreman TRX500M - we do Geophysical surveying in the bush.
We replaced the fairing with aluminium metalwork but it fatigued too much so we went back to the plastic and ended up with a tougher bullbar.
We have also found recycled conveyor belt rubber to work well for underbelly protection...
Now we have new regulations in Australia coming in that means that farming ATV's can't be sold without roll-protection fitted so most of the manufacturers are stopping selling them! We have switched to the Pioneer SxS as a replacement...

I would say thats bush ingenuity. Conveyor belt is tough stuff. Keep us posted from the other side of the world. Whats the price of a P500 there? Thanks.

I had Ricochet guards on my Foreman 500 and they protected the boots extremely well. I installed the Ricochet guards on my P1000-5 and they don’t protect the boots nearly as well as they did on the Foreman. The plastic boot guards remain in place on the front with Ricochet. The rear guards are a different story. They protect well from the front.

Curious what you do not like about it? Its hard for me to see in SSS's pics how it attaches. Getting real close to buying skids and A-arm guards so I'm trying to sort out any issues.

Installed stickstoppers from strong made. Pretty easy install. There is a space on front between factory plastic guard but I think they will help. I put em on a 520. (Same as 500 for ordering purposes)

Any concerns about the bolts hanging down on the Strongmades?

I like that the SSS are flush mount but I like that the Strongmade is taller. Decisions, decisions.

The bolts do hang down on the Strong Made's and in the last 5 yrs a couple of them have gotten bent or worn down. I chose them bc they're steel and lots of cleanout holes in the bottom. They do clear the stock plastic guard. After adding arched A arms it was easy to drill holes and fit them to the new arms.
