TN, TWRA has added anther 52,000 acres to the already exiting 240,000 acres that comprises of the Sundquist, Royal Blue, New River Units of the TWRA OHV trail system, this area has been called Tackett Creek formerly mined for coal then logged. The trails have been present for some time but are not marked or numbered. After spending 12 hours on the system today only covered 48 miles from a very experienced guide Dan Koerner which sells the GPS tracks for the whole area.

This trail system is overall very challenging with many sections difficult due to 40 degree plus inclines, and bowling ball size loose rocks that change the route to take with each passing SxS. A winch and full skids would be considered nearly mandatory for this area. The scenery is stunning as much as the trail difficulty to get to it.

This area is east north east of Ride Royal Blue Resort by 20 miles on trails and back roads. Many go in near Speedwell TN by pulling of State Hwy 63 about 5 miles East of Lafollette TN.

Here is a few pics until I can get video up.

This was our guide Dan he is 73 and drives a heavily fortified RZR 1000 to tackle this terrain with ease, he put several fellas half his age to shame today. All he does is ride these trails and painstakingly maps them out.

Sweet views. Cant wait for the videos.
I'm hoping like heck my gopro was rolling when we hit "No Business Hollow" I thought we were climbing over 55 gal barrel rocks at a 30 degree down slope. A lot of nose down vertical moments.

Check out this roll cage exoskeleton Dan made, he just dives through tree limbs and rocks like a D9 caterpillar. Everything is continuous from front bash plate, up and over both sides then down the back into a rear bumper. All modular with tounge and groove joints. Even his doors are 3/4" UHMW because the plastic and aluminum ones get punctured, bent, or ripped off, in the Tackett Creek rocks.

OK first Tackett Creek video is of "No Business Hollow" I have 16" of ground clearance and bottomed out more on this trail in 15 minutes than in the previous 10 months of riding.

OK here is the best video segment representing Tackett Creek all in 24 continuous minutes, I only cut off the start and end where we were stationary. Again no Sound ( cuts data use in half) I'm nearly out of data and one video like this would cost $15 to upload.

This is the climb up to V-Rock dropping through it down, through, and up Devils Canyon .... appropriately named.

There is a hill about 18-19 minute mark the P1K could not pull itself in 1st and stalled out have never had that happen, I did make it with a run in Low manual though, all these hills are deceivingly steep in excess of 40 degree incline, then there is the rocks.

WOW!! That is amazing to say the least. Technical driving like that is probably over my head at this point, but it is where I want my capabilities to be at some point. Really enjoyed that - thanks for sharing!

You mentioned that Dan sells GPS maps for the area. How can I purchase those from him?
