Talon fuel pump recall.

I just received a letter today from Honda about a defective fuel pump. A made an appointment with my local Honda dealer to get it fixed/replaced.
Anyone else get a recall notice? I have a 2020 Talon 1000X. I think its for other models too. Don't have the letter with me right now.

I got one today too . Thinking about it . I have 6k miles and thinking if it wasn't good it would be out by now .

I got mine today and will be fixed next week.

Yup, not too worried about it. 3 yrs in and it's still going. I may take it in this winter to get it done along w the subtrans inspection recall from a couple yrs ago that I never did.

Got one as well. Never heard about anyone having fuel pump issues though.

You'd think they would do a subtrans recall with the amount of problems people have! Or a power steering recall!

Hmmm... I haven't had any problems with mine or heard of anyone else with that issue. I'm pulling the stock tank and fuel system out this winter to replace it with a fuel cell and a return style fuel system so as long as it lasts till the end of the season I'll be happy.

I got one also for my 2019.
The only fuel pump issues I remember seeing are for new machines.
So we get a recall to install a new pump that has been seen to fail in our older machines. WTH
Honda has a big recall for fuel pumps on their cars also.

Honda cars had a recall in 2020 and again in 2021. They called them low pressure pumps. Is our fuel pump considered a low pressure pump and related to the car pumps they can't seem to get right.

Maybe Honda Tech can shed some light on this. Do our pumps use a rotor like the recalled car pumps?

My advise..... If you got some miles on your Talon and the fuel pump has been a non-issue I wouldn't get it replaced.

I received one for 2019 Talon R and it's in the shop now being replaced.

Contacted my dealer today and they said the pump is replaced with a new parts kit that go in the existing pump and they need to purchase a 400 dollar tool to do the job. Kit is on order and who knows when it arrives. I was told the pumps were made by two outsourced suppliers and the pumps in question came from one specific supplier. My friend who has a 19 X just like mine did not get a recall.

Thats a bold face lie.

Parts are on open order and ship in 2 days max, any dealer worth their salt would have them on hand.

The only tools you need are the lock ring tool, which can be purchased from OTC for under $50, but should've been auto shipped from Honda as a special tool.

They also have 2 plastic clip tools that were auto shipped as well when the original PUD was released. They are free due to being part of an update/recall.

Your dealer is full of s***.
