Talon wont start. multiple codes.

Hey guys I'm new to the sxs world. I have a 2020 Honda Talon 1000r (2seater) I have no power to the the plugs but getting power to the coils... I thought it was coils "replaced them" still no fire getting threw to plugs "they are also brand new" we looked in the book an trying to figure an diagnose it or get help on it... I thought it was my dct computer but it wasn't because my brother has a 2019 X an it fired off with no hesitation. I also checked the stator getting power there also. I've had a guy tell me check the grounds we'll I found the main 1 under driver seat of course an 1 to the starter cleaned that as well. It's got me so lost an confused. I heard there is 1 under the hood at the front but can't find it. Anyone know what it could be doing this for? Because it ran fine no issues that morning but went to my friends house an turned it off for 30min or so an fired up idle fine went to pull out on the road Backfired spit sputter I then pulled over idle fine go to give little gas same thing happened again then i backed off alittle an it picked up speed then again backfired spit sputter an would do fine at idle. Got home witch is like 3mins from my buddies house an parked in the yard left it running to get my brother to come out to see if he could drive it down the road before I made it to the front door is died an ain't fired up but cranks no start tho. I've checked fuel pressure an filter. I have a few codes but no way to find out what they are.

Hello, welcome to the HondaSxS Club.
Multipal codes usually mean something beyond the matched issue.
Ex, wire harness issues or ECU or other items not seated all the way.
I'd place my money there before diagnosing each code.

Check the wire harness by the seat belt bolt. I think it's a passenger inside bolt.

for clarity - you swapped dct or ECM and it tan just fine and you put your DCT or ECM back in and problem came back?

fyi - its never the coils

Just for reference, Honda coils never go bad.

What's battery voltage with key on?
Cables Tight?

Yes we tried it an tried his on mine also an want start with his either on mine but my computers will fire his up an run but won't start mine.

That tells me it's not your computer and it's something with the wiring or a bad sensor

id look next at CKP sensor check and wiring -

then all the wiring

Sorry to hear your having issues with your ChiCom virus time frame made Talon. Dont take offense, I can say that, mine is a 21’

A guy off the talon group gave me his number an i was asking how to clear the codes an i said I have no spark to the plugs an i told him they are brand new coils an plugs an he asked if I had a multi metter an I said yes he had me test battery and I had 12.3 and he said turn key on an check the wire to the coil an I had 11.3 an he said ok it's not wire issue then an he said go to the rectifier an pull the plug with 3 yellow wires an take your probe an stick 1 in 1 wire an test see if I had continuity in the connector he had me test all 3 an there was continuity in all 3 he said that's your problem because that's not supposed to happen. Right?

The 3 YELLOW wires should have continuity to each other, that's normal.

They should NOT have continuity to ground

But the those 3 wires have nothing to do with running. The other 2 wires however are for the pulse generator and that is what tells the PCM to fire the coils.

But you'll need a peak voltage tester or Ignitionmate to test that

Measure with your 2 probes and on ohms

1-2 Ohms
1-3 Ohms
2-3 Ohms

1 to ground ohms


And report back

Thank ya. I'll do it when I get home because I tried testing the the plug lastnight after work an everything an I couldn't figure out what they was meaning because I don't know what I'm doing nor looking for
