I had no idea that this one existed. Based on what I have read so far, it sounds like doing the trip on a SXS would be out of the question.

I have a Land Rover that might be a better choice for navigating this type of trip.

What???? not sure that is legal, but I will go read the write up they did.

I thought for sure you couldn't ride down Black Bear Pass and some of the other parts in Colorado
Yeah, give it a look, they spent a lot of time on it. Their machines were street legal. They mention one uneventful encounter with LEO…

I don’t know why a SXS wouldn’t be allowed on BBP, a dirt forest service road….🤔

I am pretty sure I looked into doing this road last year when I got me P520. Everyone said that each county in Colorado has different rules and that this road/county was strict. I hope that I'm wrong, would be way easier to run this with a SXS than my Defender.

Hard to say Rob, those lads did this in 2011, perhaps it’s changed since then….🤔

I know others have done it as well, and perhaps there are some work arounds for various parts of it….perhaps they ignored the sign, no telling because unfortunately they didn’t write a post ride report, which would have been really great.

But then again, the USDA.gov website says it’s open to all motorized vehicles….

Here’s a very good write up, with sub-link to a great day by day journal of a group that did the TAT in August of 2017. They did it in one month…..Very cool!!!!!

As you can see here, this is very doable by SXS and has in fact been tackled by quite a few people in SXS’s….👍
