You need to see Lonesome dove it is great, lots of good actors and characters in it... Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover.

Again, not what I'd call the GOAT, but who has seen this one...

I happened to catch the original airing of this on TNT back in 1996 or so, and the awe-inspiring area where this was filed always stuck with me. Southern Utah will do that to you.

I looked around for it a few times over the years, but it wasn't until a few years ago that it became available again via streaming on Amazon, and i snapped it right up. Also can be had now on DVD. I just wish is was available in HD/Blu Ray to really show off those canyons, but being a TV movie...i dunno if it was even "shot" in HD, though the film will still benefit from a HD version.

If you are suffering from a case of southern Utah wanderlust, watching this movie would be like pouring gas on a fire.
