Welcome @Brucebrooks,
Ya. With the 500 you can fully control it down to a crawl in 1st gear. It is super low.

Yep - Run STEEP hills all the time and the machine does a great job of holding itself back.

@Brucebrooks Welcome to the Club! The P500 is a very capable machine and it's engine braking is on par with anything on the market except its designed right in no buttons to push to "activate" it. All handled by a real transmission. You will not be disappointed.

I rode down some tough steep hills today, scary looking so I grabbed LOW and 4x4 lever and it crawled down with no braking except when I would "fall" off huge rocks. Crawls up them same way.

Passed a guy on a sxs that smelled of burning rubber but couldn't tell what brand of machine it was. He was mad as hell and didn't want a tow. It wasn't a Honda.

The 500 is an under estimated, under appreciated BEAST. It is VERY surprising what it will do, for a short travel UTILITY machine.
