Installing a winch on this bumper has been somewhat of a chore. I purchased the 6000# Viper Elite Widespool winch from the club store. The mounting slots are quite a bit larger in diameter than the winch mounting bolts, especially the smaller two. I had to fab up some spacers to fit inside the slots in order to keep the winch bolts centered in the slots. Thick washers must be used on the underside in order to keep washers from deforming into the slot when tightening the winch bolts. It's kind of been a pain....

There was a mounting plate for the winch that goes there. I have the 4500lb viper from the club store on my 3 seater.

That's why I plan on fabbing a plate to use under the top bumper plate. I'm hoping this will be the easiest way to deal with the slots.

Correct, and I am using the plate. That isn't the issue. The slots in the bumper are wider than the bolt diameter of the winch which leaves room for the winch to move around even with the bolts tight when in a heavy winching situation. Poor design, IMO, but I shall overcome.

That will help if you fab some kind of spacers that the bolts go through that fit up into the slots.

Just fab the plate to fit up tight to the pipe in the bumper then it won't move no matter how hard you pull.

I also had a time with the bolts to mount the winch. I ended up taking the mounting bolts to ace and buying the longer ones and a large and small washer for each bolt. I only had the bottom 2 bolts in the bumper,so it would swing down and i could mount the winch.

Good looking machine! The problem I ran into was the stock bolts were too short on the motor side. The longer bolts were about 1/4" too long (didn't realize it until too late). For reference, I used heavy flat washers to compensate for the bolts being too long after the fact. Not sure why only one of the motor side mounting points busted. The bolts were the same length. I also left the bottom two bolts in and used a floor jack with a piece of pipe under the receiver to hold it in place while doing the install.

Have you notices any sagging in front from additional weight or steering issues? Bolt holes for winch may turn me off to this bumper. How many inches does it stick out from grill?

I haven’t noticed anything any different, no sagging or steering issues. Think the bumper weighs 72lbs plus winch

So approx 6” from the very front plastic? Have you done any winching yet?
Not anything major yet, they’re metric 10.9 bolts with grade 8 washers staggered in size to keep the bolt heads from pulling through the washers. Imo the bolts would break before the heads pull through those washers.

I have found the extra weight on the front to be a PLUS when making steep climbs ...... helps keep the front down.

Did anyone look at the slasher while researching bumpers? If so what moved you towards tough country?
