So I made a trip to San Antonio a while back to pick up a toy hauler. I put all new tires on before I left and made the 18hr trip back home. I bought it sight unseen and knew it needed a new roof at the least. Turns out it needed a little more. Here's a few pics to get started.

Travel trailers are actually very simple builds. Most are just little wood or metal stud framed houses built on a flat bed trailer. The roofs are not much different than you would see on a typical commercial building. TPO rubber glued down and flashings around the penetrations. You'll notice in his pic that almost everything has been removed except for vent stacks, that helps with the install! Just have to be mindful of fastener lengths, everything is thin.

My brother is a project manager for a big roofing company. He got his top guy to help me put my roof on and thank god he did. This guy is awesome! They had a partial roll of 60 mil TPO so we put that on. Its so tough you can barely cut it with a knife! Ea12559a7f98685734fb4192dc384f0368b87b599d0d2b5ef43e431b94aa049a

The raised flat spots are where we built a curb for the A/C units to sit on. Its double layered with 3/4 plywood. I did this to keep the water from running under the units and making its way inside. From the factory they sit flat on the roof with just a crappy foam seal to keep the water out. 5ac28772b2808cc68edb06765818bbf5Af02a7ce1be3ba7124c827edc878b19bE5dfe3c267b2f9514bc5ee0b72c6a460B335c1ce9b02cf8df5fe58a32f1e0282

So I'm obviously terrible about keeping up with my own stuff. Here are some updated pics. My brother took the camper out last week and I just have a few small details to wrap up

Was that OSB exposed on the roof before you installed the roofing membrane?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but the roof has all new OSB...

Yep and replaced some weak roof "trusses"

That's interesting. What do trusses in a trailer look like?

They are built out of 1x2 material laid flat with a few vertical supports. They aren't strong enough to hold a child but they radius the top so the plywood is crowned to add strength. However it's crappy 3/8 particle board. I replaced it with 1/2 OSB and that made a big difference.
