i just purchased a new Pioneer 500 and I need a trailer. I read where the P-5 is 103 inches long. Is anyone using an 8x5 trailer with a ramp? I may have to go with the 5x10 or 6x10 if the 5x8 with a ramp won't fit the Pioneer.

My poineer 500 will not fit on my 5x8 trailer. The ramp will not close. Width is fine of course.

I have a 6x10 with a half gate. You could get a 5x8 with a half gate. I wouldn't bc it makes it hard to tie down. 5x10 at smallest...

My Pioneer 500 fits perfect in my 5x8 trailer.....but my ramp is designed to close
at an angle, i.e. not straight up.

I'm currently shopping for a trailer for my P500. My question is will it fit on a 5X8 without a gate? I would use ramps to load/unload it with.

It will fit without a back gate/ramp. My gate lacks about 3 inches from closing due to hitting the back bumper.

Remember to consider the tongue weight with any trailer you buy. Generally its 10%of the trailer plus load weight. Also you will have to be able to get in and out so you need to be able to open the doors. Although expensive Aluma makes a half gate that hinges in the middle and can be folded non-vertical if you need more length. I have been through several trailers form enclosed to open for cars, motorcycles and UTV,s. A poorly loaded trailer makes towing dangerous, as well as tough on the tow vehicle. Trailers are like storage sheds, they are always too small once you load them up.......good hunting. I am using a 81"x156" and have room to spare for the plow, or spare equipment.

When I bought my 500 I already owned a tilt bed 5 x 10 trailer. The 500 fit on it, but the doors wouldn't open enough for me to get in or out of the Pioneer easily. There also wasn't much room left over for other gear, like ice chests and such. To load the Pioneer to where the weight was distributed right, it was in the middle of the trailer, there just wasn't enough room in front or behind the 500 to put anything of any size. I bought a 6 x 14 single axle with a loading gate. I really like it, wide enough to open the doors and room to haul quite a bit of other gear. One note though, if you want one long enough to haul another 4 wheeler you'll have to go to a 16 foot. I loaded my Pioneer all the way to the front and then ran my Honda Rancher 420 on behind it and the gate won't close, actually a 15 foot if anyone made one would be just right for this.

I like using a 5x8 trailer with the ramp gate folded over. Those ramp gates catch a lot of wind, so doing this increases my fuel economy on the highway substantially as well as allows me to use a smaller trailer. Just use a pair of ramps to load and unload, much easier than something as high as a pickup bed. :)

I'm looking at an Integrity 6 x 12 enclosed trailer. The inside height is 6 1/2 feet tall. If I my math is right the P 500 is about 6 feet tall...correct?

You will want to take into consideration door opening height. Door height is not generally the full interior height.

Great point. Looked at the estimate and it states 75 inches. Thanks Ohancreek.

Can you please confirm for me if you have any accessories?
I am thinking about buying a 5x8 trailer and a pair of aluminium ramps and just taking off the back tailgate but if you can back it on and still close the back tailgate then thats awesome

You may be better off getting a slightly larger trailer, if you add onto your machine or even trade models in a few years you might wish you had. The little extra invested to day may save you from buying another trailer all over again.

Floe cargo max, best trailer around.
