Can anyone recommend a trailerable cover for a Talon x4? I looked thru the archives but didnt really find much.

This cover has tie downs and SealSkins says you can trailer with it. This channel, The Beaten Trail, goes everywhere and seems to be good people.

Contact Sealskins to see what they guarantee.

Thanks @TxDoc, I checked with the supplier and they confirmed it is trailerable and suitable for use at 70 mph highway speeds.
They were on sale and I have one on order.
Fantastic . I didn't know from experience with it. I'm glad you confirmed it and have an early Christmas present on the way.

Please post again about how it fits and works for you. And, maybe some photos.

Merry Christmas

I would guess the reason they aren’t so common is that they tend to beat the crap outta buggy at worst and grind dirt like sand paper on any flat surface.

Atleast this has been my experience on trailerable covers on other items.

Just out of curiosity why would you want a cover on it towing? It’s not like it doesn’t get dirty on the trails. I can see if it was to keep salt from the roads off, but that’s the only reason I can think of. Even then a good pressure wash rinse would take care of it. I think the cover would be more trouble than it’s worth.

Once it’s dirty from the trails, that cover will grind the crap outta everything unless you wash the buggy before putting the cover on it.

I have 700 mile flatbed trailer haul to a ride in Missouri in January. The cover would be intended to limit salt spray from the Talon during the trip on the highway. I powerwash my Talon after most rides so it will be clean before covering it for the trip down and plan to powerwash the Talon after the 5 day ride in central Missouri before covering it up for the ride home. During the normal riding season the cover wouldnt be used or needed.

At some point I plan to replace my flat bed with an enclosed trailer.

Makes sense, but I still think it might be more trouble than it's worth.

I took good care of my Talon, mostly because I was new to the hobby and had to learn what I could get away with, without tipping over because I'm usually alone. When I started occasionally riding with others, and seeing the SxS's amazing capabilities, I could open up a bit.

Although I'm nowhere near as krazie as some, riding with others allows me to turn on 'the stupid switch', which I do more often than not. I haven't tipped it yet but the bodywork has taken a beating - it has a lot more 'trail cred' than just 18 months ago.

I do at least two long trips a year, over two 11k foot passes (possible snow and slush), and frequently get caught in the rain where the Talon picks up everything the RV is throwing up. I get to many camps and the thing is filthy; and there's no place to hose it off in the desert, well, because there's no water.

My point - by the time the cover starts wearing everywhere it's touching, you'll be less concerned about it than you are now.
