I performed my inspection for all hardware, rivets, etc. I found some ROPS bolts slightly loose and found a missing bolt on a brake line bracket.

Also, Honda left out one clamp for the wind shield so I've got to order another one.

I performed the normal adjustments to the doors and bed to reduce rattles. Also checked all fluid levels and drain plugs to make sure they're tight.

Back on topic. I'm looking for some storage ideas for this new ride. On the P700-4, I carried the following items in bags under the hood.

Compressor, first aid kit, tree saver, tow strap, gloves, snatch block, ratchet straps, jumper cables.

Now where can those go in the 1000-5? Here's an idea, see the picture.

168ad91a5ce4848eb61277f88140ceeb

They are water tight but need to be secured so they don't rattle around. They are also clear of those electrical connectors so if I tie them down they won't bounce up and make impact.

Thoughts?

I'd like to line the entire compartment and make it water tight. Not sure what that would entail though. I haven't looked into how many holes and gaps there are.

Does anyone know of a good water tight bag? Maybe something used for kayaking?

Aqua Lung. Defense Dry Duffel Bag

We use these on dive boats, our clothes stay dry even when they are sitting in pooled water.

Thanks guys! I'll measure the compartment under the seat and see which bag will fit. I think this is a good way to go about this.

It's an easy way to make waterproof storage and no tools needed to remove the items. Also, less potential for damage vs the ammo cans.

Search "dry bag" on that website there are tons of choices. I carry a small one with tp in it. Just in case, wet tp is worthless.

Another thought. Since I don't know how much room there is with the back seats up. How about a 20mm ammo can covered with bedliner(or duracote/cerakote/powder coat)? It might fit in that small space behind the rear seats (with them up for passengers) and would give you more than enough storage.

I'm hoping for something I can put in the vehicle and not worry about. If it goes in the bed, I'll need to move it while using the SXS for work.

What I really need is a new rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier and rotopacks. Hint hint.....

Painted the dash letters today so I can actually read the gear selector. Also, anyone else that drives like my wife, will be able to see it as well.

I noticed that the roof was rattling too much.

In this pic you can see that I can pull the roof up a lot. You can also see the hole in the ROPS gusset.

In this pic you can see its snugged tight with a plastic rivet.

The result is no more rattling!
