Not mine, but used to own and race these exact bikes back in the day. Beautiful aren’t they

I remember these when I was a kid. Subscribed to the magazines and dreamed. Not sure I ever saw a CZ or Maico anywhere in the wild until I got a little older and the Japs took over. Had several 73 and 74 CR250 Elsinore's back in the day. Bought a really nice barn find that looked to have been retired when the rear tire was shot. The guys who rode the CZ and Maicos were from a different cut of cloth. The Bultaco is a sweet bike as well. I used to ride Trials with guy from Ohio who owned tons of Bultacos and was supposed to have a huge NOS parts stash. In my second round Offroad, I campaigned several KX and CR 250s, then on to several CR500s. The 500s were easier to ride and fast everywhere. I finished up on a WR450 that I could never ride as fast as the 500s, and I rode the balls off the Yamaha. Thanks for sharing the photos

not my greatest sell - sold when I was 18 to pay a semester of tuition - apparently it was kool to cut the number plates to get some more airflow over the shocks 🙃.

Never understood the “breako” thing - lots of frame gussets and primary chains -
