Hey all, I'm installing a TrueAm dual battery kit and viper elite winch today, I bought the key on power harness from the store here to avoid having to cut the factory harness, it looks like I need 3 things tied to that, the winch dash switch, the winch wireless receiver and the dual battery voltage meter relay. Is connecting all 3 to that aux plug harness ok or is that too much draw on that one circuit?

Thanks

Hmm, well I got everything wired up and went to test, the dual battery system seems to be working fine, but the winch isn't doing anything. When I use the wireless remote the reciever box clicks and flashes the light at me, so it's getting signal but the winch doesn't make a peep. Nothing from the dash switch except for the back light.

I pulled out a test light... the winch contactor is getting power to the red post and when I hit the winch button it's showing power on all 3 other posts, including ground... that doesn't seem right? Gone over the wiring diagram a few times, I'm pretty sure we've got it right. Any ideas or troubleshooting procedures that could help?

Also noticed the ONLY time the contactor clicks when I push the button is if I have my test light on one of the posts... not sure what that means but it seemed strange.

Let's get the dash switch working first before we mess with the wireless part.
to remove wireless from the equation... Just disconnect the green and black bullet connectors at the contactor. Dont worry about the power wire right now.
Next, make sure the bullet connectors for the rocker switch are hooked up and the red wire has power.
Double-check everything to make sure it right. Make sure none of the large wires are touching each other.

Check this and let me know.
Review the directions without the wireless and make sure it is set up like that.
Thanks.

Hi, it's me again... smacking my forehead. Decided to go over the wiring one more time and what do ya know, this big black cable isn't connected to anything, oh it's the main contactor ground, wonder if that could be the problem? lol yep! 😧

Seems to be working fine now, just need to ziptie all the excess wireing now.

Some notes about the wireless remote.
Buy a lanyard for it to help you not loose it. They dont sell replacement. Have to buy the whole wireless unit. Like $99
second. To get it to work hold both buttons for 3 seconds.
It will stop working after a few minuents of non use.
Just have to hold the buttons again.

Yep, accurate diagnosis. I'm just glad it wasn't a bad part I'd have to wait for replacement, was hoping to hit the trails this weekend!
