I guess I have been sleeping but have never noticed the bars on each side in the back of the bed before. Wondering if they would work on my PK5 or if they would interfere with the back seats?

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but those bars come on the 1K5, made to work with the back seat. This is a 2018, I thought the older ones had them also.

Mine is a 2016 deluxe PK5, I think 1st year available was 2017. They are called Torso bars and would like to ad them to mine.

You would have to pull the bed panels and see if the perimeter framing is drilled and tapped for them. I believe they are a bolt in affair.
If you have a late '16, I think you luck would be better having them installed.
