Yeah I guess so. Just in the last few years. I guess to get the siding and sheathing off the ground, to stop sucking up moisture.
Plus in a garage it would keep any water off the gyprock inside.
My new garage was going to have it anyway, then I found out it’s code now.

Whats the pink framing??. I know of some fire resistant coating, but why there? Code?

Had some leaves drop on wet concrete driveway, left some interesting impressions. Neighbors dog paw prints too, so put up electric wire around the next pour.

We poured a concrete curved walkway, had the edges done and the cuts across. Put a sawhorse on the end by the street, and sat for lunch in the shade. Then we saw a mailman step over the sawhorse and walk half way down the cement before he heard us yelling st him.

That is 2” R10 ground contact insulation board. It extends to the bottom of the footing and remains when the forms are pulled. And yes it’s code in that part of the country.
