STI Roctane XD 28" x 10" x 14" all the way around. I have had very good luck with Roctane's in some seriously sharp rocks and been lucky to not have had a flat yet.

Just wondering, cause I have no experience with putting different sized tires on stuff, does radically changing the tire size change gearing and if so how? Also, does it void your warranty?? Thanks

@ElmerFudd,
Welcome to the club. If you have any nooby questions we would be happy to answer them. Start a thread and ask away.

Gearing - Yes, it changes the final "to the ground" gearing ratio. Makes it taller allowing the SxS to go faster by a tad. This will also raise the lowest gear making it harder to turn when under a load. But the biggest advantage is the added ground clearance along with a smoother ride that larger tires provide. With the P1K having a manual and low range it will not be a issue.

Warranty - Possible, It really depends on your dealer perception of what you do with your unit. If they consider you abusing it then yes. If you just go up from a 27 to a 28 they most likely want say anything. but if you jump to a 30+ then they might. "The drive train is not build for 30" tires" they will say.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am very interested in the new 1000 !! Rangers rule the land here in Northwest Colorado. Best there is right now for guiding hunters. Quiet, can get two hunters in one buggy, can put dog box in the bed, load whole elk in back, etc. Would really like to be the first in the neighborhood to have the new Honda. I don't think Honda realizes the market there is for the hunting type crowd.

Would rims from my rincon with independent rear work on the new Sxs 1000. I thought Honda was the same with the exception of independent rear to a strait axle but to order aftermarket now ... Is there more details to it

Ya they will.
Or at least my oem Rincon wheels fit my P700. P1k should have the same lug pattern as the P7 so I would say yes, they will.
Ok thought that was prolly the case .May keep some mud tires on 12 in rims

Wasn't sure but did we decide a true to size 30 x 10 would work without a lift

From a side view assuming the 27" are ACTUALLY 27" yes, but that is a big assumption to make knowing how tire manufactures like to be "inconsistent" and occasionally flat out lie (if it says 25" and it only measures 24" that's a lie IMO, 25" and measuring 24.75" that's inconsistent) about the actual tire size. Not sure about tire clearance when turning or compressed. Someone will need to get ahold of a 1000 to find that out.

looking at you BigH

I was curious if Honda went to a bigger diameter wheel stud on the P1000 vs, the P700 & P500, especially since the bed weight rating, towing capacity, & vehicle power were vastly different from the P500 to the P1000 but they all use the exact same part # 90113-SA0-006.

I would think a machine that weighs 700+ lbs. more not to mention hold 5 riders vs. 2 would need a tougher setup (P500 to P1000). Guess I don't have to worry about breaking a stud on my P500. :D

The same size studs are used on small cars that weigh 3500lbs, wouldn't think it would need to change.
I suppose so, guess it is typical of how Honda overbuilt much of the machines to start with that as they evolve the parts are already designed to handle it.

Was thinking about putting 30" tires on my up and coming p1000-5 mysef, but was wondering if there is a way to adjust the speedo so I'll know my correct speed?

Probably not I would hazard a guess that it is calculated in the ECM like on the 500/700. Unless Honda has allowed an adjustment via the gauge cluster (which I highly doubt as it would encourage using equipment other than factory and open up warranty coverage issues for them) you're not going to be able to adjust for tire size.

Using a GPS app on your smartphone would be the cheapest way to get your real speed.

I will be using my 28" radial outlaws to start with and then maybe go up to 30" radials in the near future.
