For those of you who already have wheels on your p1k. What offset did you go with? Looking at the Sti hd3's but wasn't sure on the offset. Between 2+5 or 5+2.

I know the 5+2 was designed for the front but wasn't sure if the rear needed the 2+5 offset? I was leaning towards no since the 2+5 was made for the straight axle rigs.

And for tires would I want to order the 14x9's or 14x11's or two of each. Thanks guys and howdy since this is my first post.

@JDPlowboy Welcome to the club and congrats on your new Pioneer 1000. You will want to stay with 5+2 on all four corners with the STI wheels to stay close to OEM width of 62.9" Hondas offset is usually just under 2" from the outside lip (1.5-1.75") hence the closest choice is the 5+2.

Note they do have a 6+1 off set in that bolt pattern which could narrow it by 1.5-2" to get you to about 60-61" width if you want / need to consider that. Here is a link to the 6+1 offset from STI:

STI HD3 Alloy Wheel | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

Never mind is says CanAm commander the bolt pattern is the same.

EDIT, here is a link showing all the wheels that are guaranteed to fit the Pioneer 1000:

Really? I want the same outside dimension, front and back, seems like it would be a 1X ?

To get the same front and back you need 6+1 offset for front and 5+2 offset for rear. With 10" wide tires you should be right at 64" wide on a P1K.

I also just upgraded to the P1000 from the P700, talk about a totally different machine!! I was wanting to upgrade my rims also.. I was looking at the MSA M12’s or the M20’s ... Haven’t really thought about the size either 14’s or 16’s running the Interco Interforces or BKT’s .... Don’t really know a whole lot about offsets... Didn’t really want them to stick out more than factories... any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

@JACKAL post above has the information you need - Do you know if you want to go with the same tire width as stock 9" up front and 11" in the rear or are you wanting to go to one size tire all the way around , usually 10"? If going same size tire all the way around get the same wheel off set and once you get installed if you don't like the look you can always add 1" wheel spacers to increase the back width.

That's what I ended up doing, no mud busters, no spacers and stays pretty clean. Stability is still there but not running a lift, just smaller 30 inch tires, a arms and shocks. I very rarely use 4 wd, so I'll just replace rear tires when I need to, because rotating won't work.

Even with the rear tires sitting an inch narrower than stock I was getting covered in mud.

FedEx showed up a few mins ago and left a set of XL Mudbusters on the front porch. After seeing how clean @joeymt33 rig was compared to mine on same trails I was sold.

I’m probably going to go with 8’s up front and 10’s on the rear... I will also be installing the HL 2.5” lift kit also... didn’t know about the Arched or Forward A arms...

Hey there Jackal, I’m looking to put 14x7 rims on my p1000 and some 27x8.5 buckshots since I ride on pavement so much. What offset would you recommend I get?

5+2 offset if you want exact wheel track add 1" spacers to rear or use 4+3 offset on back only.

Make sure tires will handle weight of SXS at least 800-850 lbs per tire. The P1K has a GVWR of 3350 lbs. To light a tire can fail, roll off bead, etc. Be safe not sorry.

Edit. I see the Buckshot tires are load range C which is 1850 lbs so you should be fine.

I’m looking at the MSA M31 wheels, they come in 4+3.

What stance do you suppose this would give me compared to stock?
I’m assuming I’d need to run 1” spacers on the rear...

If you look at @Windrock1000 build thread it will give you an idea - I believe that is what he runs but with 1” spacers on the front and 2” on the back

Overall width will depend on tire width too. With that offset add 3" to the 63" OEM width, going with 10" wide tires up front add another 2" for an overall width of 68" to the outside of tires.

With 4+3s on all 4 corners you will need 1” spacers in the rear to balance track with fronts. Note that factory with is slightly narrower in the rear.
