It was a ranch house in a mining area during the late 1800, early 1900s. It contained the post office for the community during that time. Adobe was heavily used during those times as it helped hold the cool in during the summers and heat in during winters. There are a large number of mining ghost camps and towns in this area that provide some fun back roading and exploring. Most are remote. It is not unusual to go the whole day exploring and not see anyone except ranchers and border patrol vehicles.
