P700 Windshield Grommets

Does anybody know of a good replacement for the rubber grommets that come on the factory Honda split windshield. The rubber dry rots pretty quick. Surely somebody has came up with a fix for this. Neopreme??? Shock bushings??? ANY IDEAS??

You could order the actual grommets I’m pretty sure, or use o-rings and step them down.

Yep...Home Depot has the size that will work...not sure if they will last much longer than OEM, but that is what I used.

If you have an auto parts store nearby you may check there as well. O’reilly auto parts carries the dorman brand which is for auto use.

A fast easy fix for me was to buy toilet tank washers and larger metal washers. I took each of the bolts out one at a time and replaced the stock outside metal washer with a bigger one, then added a rubber toilet tank washer, then put it back together. The inside of the factory grommets is in great shape. It is just the outside that is coming apart. I found the toilet tank washers in 4 packs at Home Depot.

I did try to order the grommets at my local Honda dealer first. All he could get was the whole bracket assembly that holds the split windshield to the roll cage.

Honda says for all HL3 (700) windscreens but they should fit 1000 as well. They don't currently show any for the 1000 parts yet.

Not to revive a dead thread, but do these grommets come in a set? Because I'm seeing $15 for that part number. Seems like an awful lot per grommet.

Are you familiar with Mcmaster carr?
Should be able to spec an acceptable replacement thru them.

If someone found something suitable at BORG. Mcmaster should have it.
